What is Destination Kent State (DKS)?

DKS new student orientation is your student's required orientation experience where they will meet with their academic advisor to register for classes, make friends and so much more. They can register for their preferred DKS date in their admissions portal.

Registration opens Oct. 1 for incoming spring students and Jan. 13 for incoming fall students.

Placement Testing Before Attending DKS

Your student must complete any and all placement testing at least three days before attending DKS, before meeting their academic advisor or before Aug. 31, 2027.
