I graduated in 1998 from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and pursued graduate studies in Psychology at Walden University. I spent seven years working in the behavioral health field, utilizing behavior modification techniques with children, adolescents, and adults across home, school, inpatient, and outpatient settings.
From 2004 to 2013 I owned and operated a Children's Learning Center in my hometown, serving children ages 3-12. The center provided before- and-after school care for school-aged children, a full day summer program, full and part-day preschool and Pre-K classes, as well as Kindergarten readiness programming. I later expanded operations by opening a second location that offered full- and part-day preschool for children ages 3-5.
Following my work as a business owner, I joined a nonprofit organization where I advised students at multiple high schools and an early college program, supporting them in preparing for their postsecondary educational and career pathways.
In 2022, I joined Kent State University as a Counselor in the Financial, Billing and Enrollment Center, where I delivered a holistic counseling experience related to course enrollment information, academic records, financial aid, billing and payment. My work consistently emphasized academic success and degree progress, financial wellness, student retention and graduation outcomes.
I'm excited to begin my new role as an Academic Advisor, where I will be advising Early Childhood Education majors and supporting them throughout their academic journey.
