Kent State Trumbull Heads into Competitive Video Game Season

Kent State eSports LogoThe Thunderbirds kicked off their eSports season this month. The team wants you to know the sport is just like any other collegiate sport.

Coach Mike Pozega told WKBN if you are against video games, you should see the social skills the students learn while preparing for their matches. “If you really watch the way they develop as a group to beat another school or team, you would give it a second thought,” Mr. Pozega said.

The Thunderbirds compete over the next five weeks and have the opportunity to move on to the playoffs if they are top four in their division. If they make the playoffs, they have the chance to earn scholarship money.
