It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Starkey Earns Career Win No. 300 as Kent State Beats BG
Kent State defeated Bowling Green, 82-74, Saturday at the Stroh Center to give head coach Todd Starkey his 300th career win. Starkey has won 135 games as the leader of the Golden Flashes and is now tied with Laurel Wartluft for the second most wins in program history.

Educating Students On The Value Of Marginalized Voices In Politics
On February 3, 2024, the Women’s Center will host the fourth annual Elect Her event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the May 4 Visitors Center at Kent State University. The event is an interactive one-day training program that educates college students on the value of having women and marginalized voices in politics.

Cleveland State University and Kent State University will co-host a celebration of life for Dr. Michael Schwartz on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m. in the Glasscock Family Foundation Ballroom. Schwartz served as president of both universities.

A Program Of Empowerment
Since the summer of 1990, the Academic S.T.A.R.S. (Students Achieving and Reaching for Success) Program has been offered at Kent State University. E. DoIT Supports Kent State's R1 Status by Creating App to Track $2M in Grant Money
The future of tracking internal grant money within the university is here, and it presents a brand-new way of managing funds distributed to professors and organizations. In partnership with the division of Research and Economic Development, the Division of Information Technology has created a fund-tracking app to trace the path of grant spending.
As an R1 school, Kent State has the highest “status for research” recognition that doctoral universities can receive. This distinction was partly given due to Kent State’s funding for research.
The Sky’s The Limit: How DoIT Helped Transform Flight Reservations at Kent State
Kent State’s Division of Information Technology (DoIT) has helped the College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) soar to reach new heights with innovative technology. Reserving aircrafts has become significantly more efficient for students with the new implementation of an automated flight reservation application.
The college originally organized aircraft reservations through a Google Doc created by a former student. Once this student graduated and was no longer operating the document, the college sought out a more automated formula.

Regional Students Receive Intel® Scholarships
Two students in the College of Applied and Technical Studies at Kent State University at Tuscarawas received Intel® Semiconductor Scholarship for Women awards. The scholarships support education-related expenses (tuition, fees, books,etc.) as well as other expenses including transportation and childcare.

I PROMISE Students Study Brain Health
Kent State’s Brain Health Research Institute recently welcomed 94 fourth-grade students from the I PROMISE School in Akron, Ohio, for a day of activities aimed at sparking their interest in science and technology.
