Lin Danes, Director, Web Services and Interactive Media
Lin Danes earned a bachelor's in communication from Clarion University, with a ranking of magna cum laude. Prior to joining UCM in 2000, she served as a communications specialist at Summa Health System, writer/Webmaster for Harker Inc. and continuity director for WYFM radio. She has won the Kent State President's Excellence Award, was nominated for six Kent State Distinguished Staff Awards and has earned communications awards from Higher Ed Marketing, the Council of Advancement & Support for Education (CASE), IABC and the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, Media Awards Program.
Nicole Carlone, Social Media Community Manager
Nicole Carlone joins Kent State after working as the Digital Media & Communications Manager of Hospice of the Western Reserve, where she developed and managed the agency's social media strategy and presence; developed and managed blog strategy and presence; served as founder and chair of the social media action committee; managed the website; and managed the email marketing campaigns and SEO efforts.She is a Baldwin Wallace University alumna with a degree in public relations and a minor in marketing and management.
Rob DiVincenzo, Interactive Designer and Developer
Rob DiVincenzo joined Kent State in 2014 after leading complex web development & web design projects at Point To Point Inc., University of Central Florida’s College of Medicine, and DIT Inc. Rob is also founder of Ignited Web, a software consulting company. He has served a wide spectrum of clients including Smuckers, Sherwin Williams, Avery Dennison, Cree LED Lighting, Henkel/OSI, U.S. National Park Service, and U.S. Department of Defense.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Communication from St. Vincent College and a Project Engineering Certificate from the University of Central Florida.
Ian McCullough, Interactive Designer and Developer
Ian McCullough joins Kent State after working at Insivia, IdeaBase, A Hot Mesh, Swagelok, and Glyphix. He is a Kent State alum with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (major, VCD; minor, Web design and development) and a Master of Fine Arts. Some of his recent awards were from the 2014 Akron ADDY event and included Silver in Collateral Material Category / CCI undergraduate brochure, Silver in Digital Advertising Category / School of Communication Studies website redesign, and Gold in Digital Advertising Category / CCI Commons website redesign.
Anne Palmieri, Web, Training Coordinator
Anne Palmieri worked as a temporary UCM employee for a year before joining us in October 2010 as a senior secretary. From August 2012 to December 2013 she worked as a web, internal and electronic communications specialist and in January 2014 she was promoted to web, training coordinator. Anne is a graduate of Hammel Business College and was previously employed by Momper and Associates, Inc. and Sheraton Hotels. She also owns Anne's Grapevine Invitations, a home business she began so she could work from home while raising her children.
Tim Priester, Interactive Designer and Developer
Tim Priester earned a bachelor's degree in Professional Writing and Editing with an emphasis in electronic communications from Youngstown State University in 2004. Before joining the Kent State web team in June 2008 as Coordinator, Electronic Communications and Web Content Services, Tim was the Director of Web Communications for a home decor company based in northeast Ohio where he maintained the corporate website and e-newsletter.
Sara Smith, Coordinator, Electronic Communications and Web Content Services
Sara Smith joins Kent State after working at The Cortland Savings & Bank Company as Assistant Vice President/Marketing & Communications Director; Bella by Design, Creative Director and Owner; Tour of the Valley, Marketing Director; Questex Media Group, Freelance Designer; and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Sports Copy Editor.
She is a Kent State alumna with a degree in journalism and a concentration in information design, also serving as Daily Kent Stater Assistant Managing Editor for Visuals and Designer for Fusion Magazine and The Burr Magazine.
