Security Aides & Escorts

The Security Aide program is composed of approximately 65 trained students employed by the Department of Residence Services. Security Aides are responsible for patrolling the residence halls and providing campus escorts. Escorts are available throughout the campus when Security Aides are on duty.

Sexual Assault & Relationship Violence Support Resources

The Office of Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services was established to educate students about personal safety and violence prevention, to empower them to build healthier relationships and to be responsive to students in need. The SRVSS office offers resources and education for personal safety, sexual assault and rape, relationship violence and stalking.

Step Up Speak Out

Step Up and Speak Out provides greater awareness of mental health concerns, including risk factors for suicide. This suicide prevention campaign represents a collaborative effort of Kent State University Psychological Services, University Health Services, the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Police Services and aims to support individuals in need by educating university community members on protocols and resources designed to assist in disruptive situations or with distressed individuals.

Flash ALERTS Subscriptions

Flash ALERTS is Kent State’s official emergency text notification system to alert subscribers of critical information no matter what time it is or where they are in the world. Flash ALERTS expands the university's ability to send critical news and information to the university community during campus emergencies.
