Center for Student Involvement

We foster a sense of belonging and connection to campus through engagement and developmental opportunities that complement the academic experience of our students. Getting involved on campus is one of the quickest ways to become part of the university community and create your own Kent State experience. The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) offers opportunities for leadership and participation in student-initiated projects and student organizations.
Students learn more about student organizations during the Welcome Weekend Back to School Blastoff held at the track behind the Deweese Health Center.

4:30 - 8 p.m.  

This is the official kick-off event for the school year where thousands of students will gather on Risman Plaza to catch up with old friends, meet new ones and learn about many of the student organizations and departments on campus. The event will conclude with a concert and light show!  

The deadline to register for a table is Friday, August 17.

Students fill the Student Green during the Black Squirrel Festival. Food, games, vendors and bands entertain the students at the start of the semester.

Join us for the Flash Activities Board's biggest event of the year!  BSF attracts more than 3,000 students, faculty and staff.  The event includes free food, giveaways, music, inflatables and more.

Homecoming Parade

Homecoming Parade

Be part of Kent State's 100th Homecoming celebration! The parade will take place on Saturday, October 6 at 10 a.m. beginning at Midway Dr. and will proceed west on Main Street. The parade will conclude at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Franklin Avenue in downtown Kent, Ohio.
