Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Luanne Redeye grew up on the Allegany Indian Reservation in Western New York. It is from here where she draws inspiration incorporating community and family members into her paintings, which gives her works a strong personal and emotional component.

Kent State Board of Trustees Approves Establishing New Bachelor of Social Work Degree
The Kent State University Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the Bachelor of Social Work degree during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held March 8. The new degree was developed based on the high demand for licensed social workers within the areas surrounding Kent State’s Regional Campuses.


Emerging Media and Technology Students Create Mobile App for Hudson Community TV
A group of four students recently gained valuable professional experience and public acknowledgement for their class project developing a mobile progressive web application for Hudson Community TV (HCTV). The project was conducted in partnership with IdeaBase, and Director Kristin Dowling helped mentor the team while they were working with the client.

New Lab Combines Mixed, Virtual and Haptic Technologies To Provide Realistic Simulations for Students or Patients
Kent State has opened its newest research center, the IC Touch Lab, that will revolutionize the way medical students practice and patients rehabilitate. Headed by Kwangtaek Kim, assistant professor of Computer Science, the lab conducts various research projects involving haptic technology to expand the possibilities of medical and rehabilitation practices.
