The Portage County Local Health Departments have scheduled an H1N1 flu clinic on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kent State University Field House for the priority group, which are people who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Pregnant women
  • Caregivers and household contacts of infants under 6 months old
  • People 6 months old to 24 years old
  • People 64 years old and younger with chronic health conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and/or other chronic health conditions that compromise the immune system
  • Health care and emergency medical services personnel with direct patient care

The Kent State University Field House is located at 2213 Summit Street in Kent next to Dix Stadium. The cost of the H1N1 vaccine is free. People are encouraged to pre-register at https://h1n1vaccine.odh.ohio.gov/ to help speed up the paperwork process.

The Nov. 21 priority group clinic utilizes the county’s supply of vaccine. This is not an official Kent State flu clinic but rather a community clinic where the university is providing space. For more H1N1 flu information from the county, visit http://co.portage.oh.us/h1n1.htm.

Kent State flu clinics will be scheduled when the H1N1 vaccine is delivered to the university. Please continue to regularly check the university’s flu site at http://www.kent.edu/flu for news and updates, including the scheduling of future H1N1 flu vaccine clinics.
