Get Your Gold On and Attend Homecoming Events This Week

Posted Oct, 6, 2009

Festivities kick off this week and roll through the weekend as Kent State University marks Homecoming 2009 and the start of its Centennial Celebration. From football to art exhibitions to a runner’s race, the activities begin on Tuesday, Oct. 6, and build to a crescendo Saturday, Oct. 10, when more than 30 events are scheduled on that day alone.

Many opportunities exist throughout the weekend for alumni, faculty, staff and the community to enjoy the festivities. From familiar events like the heated football rivalry to the re-dedication of some campus landmarks to the favorite Homecoming parade, there is truly something for everyone. Homecoming celebrants can enjoy Tailgate Alley, which is currently filled to capacity, where Centennial Squirrel judging, among other fun activities, will take place.

Go to the Alumni Association Homecoming page at http://www.ksualumni.org/s/401/index.aspx?sid=401&gid=1&pgid=388 for details on the nearly 70 events taking place throughout the weekend. That site is a resource for parking details and other specifics on every event scheduled for the celebration.
