KSU Women’s Chorus Fall Concert Features Guest High SchoolPosted Nov, 2, 2009
Kent State’s Women's Chorus will give its annual Fall Concert on Friday, Nov. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in Carol A. Cartwright Hall at Kent State University at Kent. This concert will be the culmination of a day-long Women's Chorus Invitational held at KSU. In addition to the performance of the KSU Women's Chorus, the concert will feature guest high school choirs - including the Kent Roosevelt High School Chorale - singing individually and as part of a massed festival chorus.
General admission tickets will be available at the door. Prices are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and free for KSU students with valid ID.
The KSU Women's Chorus maintains an active schedule of concerts both on and off campus throughout the academic year. The chorus was recently selected by competitive audition to perform at the 2010 Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Professional Conference, held in Cincinnati in January. This invitation affords the opportunity to showcase Kent State's choral music program to an audience of public school and university-level music educators from throughout the state. A sponsorship campaign is currently underway to help fund the chorus' travel to this prestigious event.
