Film screening to raise domestic violence awareness

Posted Sep. 27, 2012

In recognition of October being Domestic Violence Awareness month, Kent State University at Trumbull Criminology and Justice Studies’ students are teaming with Someplace Safe, Inc. to sponsor a screening of the film Sin By Silence on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. in Room 202 of the Classroom/Administration Building on the campus of Kent State Trumbull.

A “talk back” session will be held immediately following the film.

The film is described as “an emotionally packed documentary that examines the stories of women incarcerated for killing an abusive partner. Yet, despite prison walls, these women have learned from their past and are changing the future of domestic violence statistics.”

For additional information on this event, contact Dr. Mary G. Wilson at 330-675-8925 or mgwilson@kent.edu.
