Student Artwork Recognized in Massillon Museum ExhibitPosted Sep. 18, 2012
Kent State University at Stark students and Art Department faculty submitted works of various media to the Massillon Museum’s annual Stark County Artists Exhibition. Awards were announced at the opening reception, held on September 15. An Honorable Mention was earned by Elizabeth Dallas, a Kent State Stark student and resident of Louisville, for her mixed media work, entitled gak-pak.
A total of 98 artists submitted 265 drawings, paintings, photographs, sculpture and more to the exhibit. From those, 52 pieces of artwork by 37 individuals were awarded by the jurors.
Other members of the Kent State Stark campus community with artwork displayed during the exhibit include students Julie Deutschman and Joshua Humm and faculty members Jack McWhorter and Tom Wachunas.
The Massillon Museum Stark County Artists Exhibition is on display Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. through October 31, 2012.
