Women and the New American Dream Event

Otterbein has been selected as one of 12 colleges and universities in 2012 to engage colleagues in regional dialogues about the role of higher education in ensuring future opportunities for women. Our Midwestern summit will focus on pathways for women’s social, political, and economic mobility. The United Nation’s Platform for Action for women (1995) stated that to empower women we must continually be “removing all the obstacles to women’s active participation in all spheres of public and private life.” Higher education plays an essential role in preparing new generations of women to succeed in the 21st century.
