Kent Keyboard Series Presents Bach Specialist Bruce Murray in Ludwig HallPosted Jan. 17, 2013
The Kent Keyboard Series continues its 2012-2013 season with a performance by Bruce Murray Sun., Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. in Ludwig Recital Hall. Ludwig Recital Hall is located in the Music and Speech Center at 1325 Theatre Drive on the Kent State University campus.
Bruce Murray is both an accomplished performing artist and administrator. Murray currently serves as the chair of the Miami University Department of Music in Ohio. He has also held the positions of dean and artistic administrator of the Brevard Music Center in Brevard, N.C., and director of the School of Music at University of Alabama. Murray is also an active performer as a recitalist, chamber musician and soloist with orchestra.
Murray, a noted Bach specialist, will perform a program including the Fifteen Sinfonias, BWV 787-801, Partita No. 4 in D major, BWV 828, Partita No. 6 in E minor, BWV 830 and the Italian Concerto BWV 971.
This year, the Kent Keyboard Series' 10th season, also marks the celebration of the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music's recent designation as an All-Steinway School. The Kent Keyboard Series features prominent performers known in the field for their expertise.
Tickets for the performance are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors and KSU faculty and staff; $8 students with valid ID and those under 18; and free for full-time undergraduate Kent State University students.

The performing arts box office is open weekdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and it is located in the lobby of the Roe Green Center in the Music and Speech Building at 1325 Theatre Drive on the campus of Kent State University. The performing arts box office accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover, in addition to cash and checks. Tickets are also available day-of-show at the door.
