Information Services offers expanded tech help options for faculty and students

Faculty Member Using Classroom TechnologyThis fall, students, faculty and staff gearing up for the start of the semester can take advantage of expanded, in-person technology help from Information Services.  In addition to online, phone and live chat support, new options include technology drop-in sessions and wireless help desks.

Faculty

Specialized drop-in sessions for faculty begin August 22nd and run through September 2nd (see below for specific locations, dates and hours).  

Faculty may also receive help by scheduling a Blackboard training session (learn.kent.edu) or contacting their department’s local support person (see support.kent.edu).  Preview the postcard that will be distributed to faculty members (right).

Students

For new and returning students, experienced staff members will be stationed in the various residence halls on the Kent campus to provide assistance with connecting to the FlashZone wireless network, logging in to FlashLine, setting up mobile devices and signing up for Flash ALERTS.  

The expanded support for students will begin on August 25th in most residence halls on campus (see times and locations below).

Personal computer support is also available from The Tech Spot, Kent State University's computer care center for all students, faculty and staff in the Tri-Towers Rotunda.
