Serving Up Smiles at The Banquet of Salem 2012
Posted Nov. 1, 2012The Nursing and Radiology Departments of Kent State University at Salem recently prepared and served a full meal that fed hundreds of people from the local community. The Banquet of Salem operates each Monday (as well as the third Thursday of each month) at the Salem Memorial Building. Faculty and staff members spent hours preparing the meal, before serving it to a diverse group of people that ranged from youngsters to senior citizens. Students helped decorate tables and prepare the set-up. One volunteer commented: “It was a lot of work, but it was also heartwarming. Everyone was so appreciative and it made all of us realize how lucky we are.”
