The Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center in downtown Kent opened to the public June 14, with a launch event scheduled for October. The hotel is part of the million-dollar redevelopment of downtown Kent, and is a partnership between the Kent State University Foundation and the Pizzuti Companies of Columbus, Ohio.
On May 3, 2013, the groundbreaking for Kent State Universityâ€™s Field House Locker Room project took place at the Kent State Field House. The expansion will provide a new facility for soccer, softball, field hockey, menâ€™s and womenâ€™s track and cross country. In this facility, there will be a locker room, lounge area and satellite training space for athletes.
A new course, Zombie Outbreak, offered through the College of Public Health, will teach students how to survive the zombie apocalypse and other disasters, and keep their families and friends safe.
