Literacy: Privilege or Right?

The Annual Literacy Conference, a partnership of Kent State University, Cleveland State University, The University of Akron, and Youngstown State University, focuses on literacy instructional practices for pre-K to grade 12 educators.

The Virginia Hamilton Conference is the longest-running event in the United States to focus exclusively on multicultural literature for children and young adults. Honoring author Virginia Hamilton, the conference reflects a commitment to promoting cultural awareness and affirming cultural pride while addressing the array of issues which surround the concept of culture.

Workshop proposals are due May 1, 2018. (To submit the proposal form, you must download the blank form, fill it in, save it to your computer, and then email the completed form as directed. Alternatively, you may print the form, complete it, and mail it in.)
