Working on Campus This Fall

Are you hoping your student develops career readiness skills, achieves their academic goals and make lasting connections with Kent State University students, faculty and staff? On-campus student employment is a great way to do all of this!

On-Campus Employment

At Kent State there are more than 8,000 student employment positions across 200 departments. Our student employees work in science labs, at department reception desks, as fitness instructors, as tour guides and more. Our student employees benefit from flexible hours and working close to their classes. Another benefit is that our faculty and staff supervisors ensure their student employees prioritize their classes; they are always students first! Additionally, studies have shown that students who work on campus 20 hours or less each week perform better academically than students who work off campus or do not work at all.

To learn more about student employment at Kent State, visit our website, where you will also find a link to Handshake, which is the online job board where our on-campus positions are posted for all campuses. Your student will use their university login credentials to access their Handshake account. For many positions, a resume is needed to apply. If they do not have a resume or need help improving their resume, Career Exploration and Development offers daily drop-in hours during the academic year for both current and incoming students. Locations and times for drop-in hours can be found at www.kent.edu/career

We are charged by our Flashes student employees, and we look forward to working with your student!
