Biological Sciences Scholarship

The Destination Florence Program is a two-year program for Biological Sciences students that provides a structured path to studying abroad in Florence, Italy in the Spring Semester of their second year. This program, if completed, will allow students to partake in a study abroad experience, provide academic structure to ensure students remain on track to complete their degree in four years, and provide financial support to students in the form of scholarships throughout the two-year program.

Below are the scholarships provided and the conditions required to earn each scholarship:

Semester Scholarship Amount Conditions
Fall First-year $100
  • Acceptance to the program.
  • Attendance at specific events throughout the semester.
Spring First-year $100
  • Meet with BSCI  Advisor
  • Attendance at specific events throughout the semester.
Fall Second-year $100
  • Meet with BSCI Advisor
  • Attendance at specific events throughout the semester
Spring Second-year $200
  • Participation in the Spring Florence, Italy Program

All scholarships are awarded based on the requirement of meeting all conditions listed above. Throughout the entire  process, all participants must maintain status as a full-time student and maintain a GPA of 2.5. 

Scholarship money will be awarded as a lump sum after enrolling in courses for Florence in the Spring semester of their second-year.

The Office of International Programs and Education Abroad reserves the right to dismiss any students from the program if any conditions are not met at any time.
