We offer many opportunities for students to study abroad during their time at Kent State University.

The College of Arts and Sciences prides itself on the emphasis we place on utilizing the world as a classroom and we offer a variety of programs to fit the academic needs and interests of our students. Our faculty offer short-term faculty-directed programs, which means faculty members take students to a specific location(s) to focus on learning specific content for 1-3 weeks. These opportunities allow for group sizes ranging from 10-20, allowing for a personal and enriching learning environment.

During the academic year of 2019-2020, the College of Arts and Sciences offered short-term (1-3 week) programs to the following locations:

In addition, there are longer education-abroad opportunities at our Summer Institutes. A Summer Institute is a 4 week long, education abroad experience where students take 6-7 credit hours (2-3 classes).

The following locations for our Summer Institutes are:

  • Florence, Italy (June and/or July)
  • Salamanca, Spain (May/June)
  • Xi'an, China (June)
