Online Checklist for Graduation and Commencement

1. Log into FlashLine 

  • Apply to Graduate
  • Confirm your personal information: Name, Major, Degree and Diploma Mailing Address 
  • Remove a Student Directory Restriction 
  • RSVP in Flashline is currently closed.  
    • Graduation Candidates whose application for graduation has been tentatively accepted by their advising office for the current term will be contacted via their Kent email account to RSVP.  Summer 2017 candidates can also access the RSVP by logging into Flashline between June 12 - July 14, 2017. 


    • Graduates who missed the timeframe to RSVP can submit a Late RSVP for commencement between July 15 - August 7, 2017.  Graduates who complete this form will have access to ceremony guest tickets before the close of business on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.

    3. Download Guest Tickets

    • Current Term Graduates who completed the RSVP  by July 14 will have access to the ticket download July 24 - August 4, 2017.  Additionally, candidates will receive an electronic notification via their FlashLine email account.
      • Baccalaureate Degree Ceremony - 6 Tickets per RSVP'd Graduate
      • Advanced Degree Ceremony - 6 Tickets per RSVP'd Graduate
    • ​Late RSVP's will have access to tickets on August 9, 2017.  The number of tickets provided to late RSVP's is determined by venue seating availability. 
    • Requesting Additional Tickets
      • Graduates can give back unused tickets to their peers during their ticket download! If there are additional tickets available in the give-back pool of the ticketing site, you will be able to request up to two additional guest tickets. If extra tickets aren't available, be sure to check the ticketing website give-back pool throughout the semester! 

    4. Attend Pre-Commencement Events 

    • Grad Fair: One Stop Shopping to Finalize your Commencement Details
      • Bookstore - First Floor Kent Campus Student Center
        • Wednesday, June 21, 2017
          • 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

    5. Commencement Announcements, Invitations, Garb and Related Materials 

    6. Attend Commencement 

    • Check In – Graduates report to the ceremony venue 90 minutes prior to the start of their ceremony with cap and gown. Detailed ceremony reporting instructions will be sent to your FlashLine email. 

    7. After the Ceremony

    8. Diploma Mailing 

    • Diplomas will be mailed upon final approval to the graduate’s diploma address approximately 8-10 weeks following the ceremony.
      • Spring 2017 diploma pick up will be at 108 Schwartz Center June 26-28, 2017 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Only degree recipients will be permitted to pick up diplomas.  A photo ID or passport will be required.
      • Remaining diplomas will be mailed from the Registrar's Office on June 29, 2017 to the graduate's diploma address (if identified) or permanent address in Flashline.
