Online Checklist for Graduation and Commencement

Log into FlashLine 

  • Apply to Graduate
  • Review your personal information and update if needed:
    • Name: Please be sure that your name is listed properly, as this is how it will be announced and listed in the commencement program.
    • Diploma Mailing Address: Please be sure to update your diploma mailing address to ensure that you receive your diploma.
  • Remove a Student Directory Restriction
  • RSVP: June 5 - July 5 
    • Each graduate who RSVP's their attendance will be allocated 4 guest tickets, cross the stage, and have their name announced. 

GUEST TICKETS

  • Tickets will become available to download in July following the conclusion of the RSVP.
  • All guests 2 and older must have a guest ticket for entry into the ceremony venue. 

Cap, Gown and Graduation Materials

  • Grad Fair will take place at the University Bookstore located at the Kent Campus Student Center. Stop in for a chance to win a raffle prize, purchase your cap and gown, and enjoy light refreshments. GradImages will be there to take headshots and cap and gown photos. Josten's will be available to assist with purchasing your announcements, class rings, and more! 
    • Wednesday, June 14 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Unable to attend Grad Fair? Visit the University Bookstore during normal business hours or place your order online by July 7 to avoid rush shipping fees.

IN-PERSON CEREMONY PARTICIPATION INFO

  • All of the in-person commencement ceremonies will be live-streamed.
  • ADA Accommodations: Contact University Events and Protocol at graduate@kent.edu if you will need assistance with ADA accessibility at the ceremonies.
  • Ceremony Reporting: Detailed ceremony reporting instructions will be sent to your Kent State email address.

After the Ceremony

Diplomas 

  • Upon final degree approval, the Office of the University Registrar will offer diplomas available for pick up or mailing.

    • Diploma pick-up for Spring 2023 graduates will be located at 108 Schwartz Center
      • Friday, June 9, 2023, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
      • Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
      • Monday, June 12, 2023, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
    • A photo ID or passport will be required.
    • Remaining diplomas will be mailed on Friday, June 16 from the Registrar's Office to your diploma address (if identified) or permanent address in FlashLine.
