Online Checklist for Graduation and Commencement

Log into FlashLine 

  • Apply to Graduate
  • Review your personal information and update if needed:
    • Name: Please be sure that your name is listed properly, as this is how it will be announced and listed in the commencement program.
    • Diploma Mailing Address: Please be sure to update your diploma mailing address to ensure that you receive your diploma.
  • Remove a Student Directory Restriction
  • RSVPFebruary 7 - March 9
    • Email Graduate@kent.edu if you have missed the RSVP window and would still like to participate in commencement. Only graduates who have RSVP'd will have access to guest tickets. 

GUEST TICKETS

  • Download your 4 Guest Tickets
    • Login using your FlashLine Email Address.
    • Your password is your KSU ID Number.
      • If you receive an error message click forgot password. 
    • Select your ceremony. 
    • Continue to follow the prompts to place your ticket order.
    • Tickets cannot be printed on-site.
    • If you need assistance, contact the Office of University Events and Protocol immediately. Office staff will not be available on event day to assist with ticket downloads. 
  • Graduates can give back unused tickets to their peers! 
    • If there are additional tickets available in the give-back pool, you will be able to request up to two additional guest tickets.
    • If extra tickets aren't available, be sure to check the give-back pool throughout the semester!  
  • All guests 2 and older must have a guest ticket for entry into the ceremony venue.

Cap, Gown and Graduation Materials

  • Grad Fair will take place at the University Bookstore located in the Kent Campus Student Center. Stop in to purchase your cap and gown and enjoy light refreshments. Additionally, Josten's will be available to assist you with purchasing your announcements, class rings, and more!
    • Thursday, March 10 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
    • Friday, March 11 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
    • Saturday, March 12 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Unable to attend Grad Fair? Visit the University Bookstore during normal business hours or place your order online by April 1 to avoid rush shipping fees.

Additional Graduation Events

IN-PERSON CEREMONY PARTICIPATION INFO

  • All of the in-person commencement ceremonies will be live-streamed.
  • ADA Accommodations: Contact University Events and Protocol at graduate@kent.edu if you will need assistance with ADA accessibility at the ceremonies.
  • The Commencement Map shows the available parking, including disability parking, location of the ceremony venue, ADA drop-off and the shuttle routes on Commencement day. 
  • A drop-off permit for guests in need of ADA accommodations can be displayed in the dash of the car window. This will allow the guest to be dropped off near the entrace to the ceremony venue.
  • Ceremony Reporting: Detailed ceremony reporting instructions will be sent to your Kent State email address.

After the Ceremony

Diplomas 

  • Upon final degree approval, the Office of the University Registrar will offer diplomas available for pick up or mailing.

    • Diploma pick up for Spring 2022 graduates will be located at 108 Schwartz Center
      • Friday, June 10, 2022 from 8am-5pm
      • Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 9am-2pm
      • Monday, June 14, 2022 from 8am-5pm
    • A photo ID or passport will be required.
    • Remaining diplomas will be mailed on Friday, June 17 from the Registrar's Office to your diploma address (if identified) or permanent address in FlashLine.
