Online Checklist for Graduation and Commencement

Log into FlashLine 

  • Apply to Graduate
  • Review your personal information and update if needed:
    • Name: Please be sure that your name is listed properly, as this is how it will be announced and listed in the commencement program.
    • Diploma Mailing Address: Please be sure to update your diploma mailing address to ensure that you receive your diploma.
  • Remove a Student Directory Restriction
  • RSVP: June 1 - July 1
    • Each graduate who RSVP’s their attendance will be allocated 4 guest tickets, cross the stage and have their name announced. 

Cap, Gown and Graduation Materials

  • Grad Fair will take place at the University Bookstore located in the Kent Campus Student Center. Stop in to purchase your cap and gown and enjoy light refreshments. Additionally, Josten's will be available to assist you with purchasing your announcements, class rings, and more!
    • Wednesday, June 15 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Unable to attend Grad Fair? Visit the University Bookstore during normal business hours or place your order online by July 8 to avoid rush shipping fees.

  • All of the in-person commencement ceremonies will be live-streamed.
  • ADA Accommodations: Contact University Events and Protocol at if you will need assistance with ADA accessibility at the ceremonies.
  • Ceremony Reporting: Detailed ceremony reporting instructions will be sent to your Kent State email address.

After the Ceremony


  • Upon final degree approval, the Office of the University Registrar will offer diplomas available for pick up or mailing.

    • Diploma pick up for Spring 2022 graduates will be located at 108 Schwartz Center
      • Friday, June 10, 2022 from 8am-5pm
      • Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 9am-2pm
      • Monday, June 13, 2022 from 8am-5pm
    • A photo ID or passport will be required.
    • Remaining diplomas will be mailed on Friday, June 17 from the Registrar's Office to your diploma address (if identified) or permanent address in FlashLine.
