Free Lunch + Student Brainstorm on Campus Safety

Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Design Innovation Hub
Reactor Makerspace (room 150)

Have ideas about personal security on campus? We want to hear from you!
Join us for a free lunch and an informal brainstorming session focused on student safety tools.

Why We’re Here

Immobileyes is a Kent, Ohio-based company developing eye-disrupting flashing light devices used by law enforcement. We’re now exploring a student-focused personal security product that could combine:
● flashing eye-disrupting light,
● an audible alarm, and
● possibly a geo-location or alert app.
Before designing anything, we want student input.

What We’re Asking You

Over lunch, we’ll discuss:
● where and when students feel unsafe on campus,
● what safety features you’d want—or never use,
● what you would realistically carry every day,
● size, style, simplicity, and privacy concerns.
No technical background needed—just your honest opinions.

Why Attend?

● Free lunch
● Share your perspective on campus safety
● Help shape a real product designed for students
● Learn about upcoming student hackathons

Immobileyes and the Design Innovation Hub plan to hold two “hackathon” days, where students can compete to design and prototype new personal security devices.

Who Can Join? ALL undergraduate/graduate students interested in campus safety
