Vice President, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Chief Diversity Officer, Georgetown University

Rosemary Kilkenny is inaugural Vice President for Institutional Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Georgetown University. In March 2019, her position was retitled as Vice President, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & the Chief Diversity Officer for Georgetown’s four campuses including Doha, Qatar. She supervises the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity & Affirmative Action and the Title IX Office.

Vice President Kilkenny’s previous positions included administrative and executive roles in affirmative action, educational equity and access at Kent State University and the State University of New York’s Albany campus.

Rosemary currently serves on a variety of committees and task forces at Georgetown such as the Benefits Advisory Committee, Human Resources Advisory Committee, GU Cares Committee, Georgetown Women’s Advisory Board to name a few internal committees. Examples of Rosemary’s external national and community board service include but are not limited to Board of Trustees for the Jesuit Refugee Services and the Academy of Hope, as well as the Editorial Board of the Negro Educational Review. Rosemary is one of eight co-founders of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE), and served on its Executive Board & Board of Directors for eight years. She served on the Board of Trustees of Georgetown Day School for nine years, Sports for Education and Economic Development in Senegal (SEEDS), the Board of Directors of the American Association for Affirmative Action, now known as the American Association for Access, Equity & Diversity and the Howard Road Academy among others. She has been honored by several Georgetown University organizations such as the African American Alumni Board and the Women’s Center Carol Lancaster Award and received a Georgetown University Law Center alumni award titled, the Paul Dean Alumni award for distinguished service.

Rosemary received her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center as well as the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Kent State University.
