Multidisciplinary Exploration: Cuba in Transition
Spend your winter break learning about the history, politics, education, arts, and businesses in Havana, Cuba while building your intercultural communication skills interacting with Cuban community members of diverse identities.

Description
In this course, students will engage in lectures and activities about Cuban history, politics, education, the arts, and business. Intercultural communication skills and strategies will be put into place while exploring various neighborhoods and engaging with Cuban community members.
Tentative Activities
- Walking tours of the Vedado neighborhood and Old Havana
- Visit the National Museum of Literacy
- Visit an elementary school, a high school and a special education center
- Visit the Pedagogical University José Varona, an institution of higher education founded in 1977 with the fundamental objective of graduating highly qualified professionals in the field of pedagogy
- Experience the arts with a guided tour of Fàbrica de Arte Cubano, Fusterlandia and the ICAIC's animation studio
