Hua Li, Ph.D.

What is your current occupational position or career, and what are your job responsibilities?

I am the Academic Lead for PGR Support in the School of Languages at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in China. I have been a researcher developer and have been helping to support the Ph.D. students at XJTLU since 2021.

How did the EVAL/RMS program prepare you to obtain or advance in your career?

Throughout the entire pathway of earning a doctoral degree in the EVAL/RMS program, I have gained knowledge in skills and applications in research methodology, especially statistical analyses. My interdisciplinary background in English language education and research training offers me more insights into the support for Ph.D. students and their research. It allows me to add value to my offerings, targeting a broad audience of Ph.D. students in different stages.

What did you most enjoy about the EVAL/RMS program, or being a student at Kent State University?

I particularly enjoyed the opening and friendly learning and teaching atmosphere in the EVAL/RMS program, with supportive faculty who demonstrate expertise in their relevant fields.
