Kent State Updates Campus Maps to Make It Easier to Find Single-Occupancy Restrooms

Dear Kent State University Students, Faculty and Staff,

Kent State is committed to ensuring a supportive environment across all campuses. As part of this commitment, we have updated our campus maps to make it easier to locate single-occupancy (universal) restrooms throughout our facilities. These enhanced maps provide clear, accessible information about restroom locations across all Kent State campuses, helping our community members and visitors quickly find facilities that best meet their needs.

  • This initiative will provide compliance with state law as Senate Bill 104 takes effect on Feb. 25. In addition, the university is working to:
  • Develop clear, caring guidance for implementing the new state requirements.
  • Prioritize the safety and dignity of all students, staff, faculty and visitors.
  • Review and update signage as necessary.
  • Provide support resources for members of our community, such as up-to-date single-occupancy restroom maps and signage.
  • Create transparent communication channels for addressing concerns and questions.

“Kent State remains dedicated to maintaining an environment of respect, understanding and support for every member of our university community,” said Eboni Pringle, Ph.D., senior vice president for student life. “We are approaching all facility updates with empathy, care and a commitment to preserving the well-being of all individuals on our campuses.”

The updated maps are now available and will continually be updated. Our maps site has a list of filters in alphabetical order. To find this detailed information, select the Universal Restrooms filter. Additional resources and FAQs can be found on the Senate Bill 104 FAQ webpage. Students, faculty and staff seeking support are encouraged to contact the Division of People, Culture and Belonging at people@kent.edu for guidance and assistance.

Sincerely,
