Our Team

Experience in Program Evaluation

The Research and Evaluation Bureau at Kent State University has been providing innovative evaluation and research services to the University and the community for over 50 years. We serve as a vital resource for program evaluation, research, and assessment. We offer comprehensive research and evaluation services to schools, universities, medical and health related institutions, human services agencies, community organizations, businesses, and individuals.  The Bureau has a multi-disciplinary professional staff composed of education, health, and human services research professionals.

Pamela Ferguson, Ph.D. Candidate in High Education Administration
Director of External Client Services

Ms. Ferguson is a medical sociologist with a focus in public health. She has over 30 years of experience in research development and implementation, survey protocol, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, statistical interpretation and reporting, having served as a consultant, analyst, statistician, evaluator and presenter for a variety of research initiatives and programs. Ms. Ferguson has developed and coordinated projects for a diverse array of organizations including those in education, health care, family services, and non-profit. Ms. Ferguson’s current projects include designing and coordinating the evaluation of a national longitudinal study of bereaved children and their caregivers (funded by the New York Life Foundation), in addition to serving as an evaluator for a longitudinal bio-inspired educational community outreach initiative (funded by the National Science Foundation).

Anthony Shreffler, M.Ed.
Director of College Client Services

Mr. Shreffler is a social science researcher with a focus on education. He has over 7 years of experience in program evaluation, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, statistical interpretation and reporting, survey protocol, and database management. Mr. Shreffler coordinates research services provided to EHHS faculty and graduate students, in addition to serving as an evaluator on grant-funded projects (e.g., PIRE: Bio-inspired Materials and Systems, funded by the National Science Foundation; NE Ohio ACHIEVE, funded by the U.S. Department of Education).

Debbie Roeder
Special Assistant

Debbie has 19 years of experience at Kent State University; all within the College of Education, Health, and Human Services. She has been with the Bureau for 5 years. Presently she is working half time with the Bureau, and half time with the Grants Administration Office.

Data Lab

The Bureau has a fully staffed and equipped data laboratory, which supports the evaluation staff in completing projects in an efficient and effective manner through the coordination of qualitative and quantitative data functions.  This includes data entry, transcriptions, database development and the development of useful and user-friendly data collection instruments, forms, and technology based reporting functions.
