Kent State University’s Aeronautics Program has received a Kent State-branded Cessna® Skyhawk® 172 aircraft, which it named Nikki to honor an aeronautics student who died from leukemia.

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has announced the selection of Kent State University coach and cancer survivor Danielle O'Banion as the winner of the Pat Summitt Most Courageous Award for women's basketball.
Nikki, the Top Hawk Cessna aircraft, was recently revealed at the Kent State University Airport. The aircraft is named in celebration of the life of Nicole “Nikki” Kukwa, a Kent State aeronautics student who died after receiving a leukemia diagnosis during her junior year.
The Oak Ridge Boys are bringing their Celebration Tour to Kent State Tuscarawas for two shows at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on March 5. This will be their third engagement at the Performing Arts Center.
Kent State University has earned its eighth consecutive recognition from Tree Campus USA, a national program created in 2008 by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor colleges and universities for effective campus forest management and for engaging staff and students in conservation goals.
