Regional Campus Students

Who is Eligible?

Students enrolled at a Regional Campus, regardless of class level, will be reviewed for a possible Flashes Go Further Scholarship only for their last semester prior to graduation with their first bachelor's degree. If you do not graduate at the completion of the awarding semester, you are not eligible for a subsequent Flashes go Further Scholarship. If a Regional Campus student is also enrolled in at least 12 Kent Campus credit hours they can be considered for a Kent Campus Flashes go Further Scholarship. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • U.S. Citizens or permanent residents.
  • Must be classified as an Ohio resident for tuition.
  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree granting program.
  • Must be working toward first bachelor’s degree.  Post-undergraduates are not eligible.
  • Must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the academic year during which the student will graduate with their bachelor’s degree.
  • The FAFSA must have a calculated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of 10,000 or less.
  • Student must submit all requested financial aid documents to the Student Financial Aid Office and the FAFSA must be free of all holds and processing issues (see  financial aid status).
  • Student must meet the standards of the  Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
  • Enrolled in Kent State University coursework for the last semester prior to graduation with the first bachelor’s degree.

HOW TO APPLY

  • Submit the FAFSA for the academic year during which the student will graduate.
  • No separate scholarship application is required.
  • All students will be screened for eligibility automatically.
  • Eligible students will be notified via their Kent State email address in August.

how scholarship amount is determined

  • The Flashes Go Further Scholarship covers the difference between Instructional Fees + General Fees and other grants and scholarships.
  • Award will be reduced if the student receives additional tuition-specific scholarships or grants from any source.
  • Award may be reduced or cancelled if the student changes their schedule, drops or withdraws from a course, or their tuition charges change for any other reason.

The Flashes Go Further Scholarship cannot be applied to:

  • Housing
  • Meal plans
  • Career Services Fee
  • Program fees
  • Special Course fees
  • Distance learning course fees
  • Legal Services Fee
  • Flight fees
  • Lab fees
  • Book fees
  • Study Abroad fees

How award is released to students

  • If awarded, the tuition portion of the Flashes Go Further Scholarship will be applied to the student’s account
