The United Way of Portage County’s Big Red Bookshelf project places bright red bookshelves, stocked with new or gently-used books appropriate for children ages birth - 3rd grade, in the community where families with young children visit.
These bookshelves are built and donated by community members. If you have skills in building and working with your hands, we would love for you to volunteer to make a bookshelf. You can find all the materials you will need and instructions HERE.
How do I participate: Please email Abigail Noble at anoble8@kent.edu if you are interested in building and donating a bookshelf, and she will provide you with some additional instructions.
