    BIOGRAPHY

    Manoka is a Ph.D. student and also a research assistant in the Geography Department at Kent State University. Her research focuses on the geopolitical and Khmer Rouge geography in perspective of genocide, race, war and legalities of mass violence.

    She is a Judge in Kandal Provincial Court of First Instance in Cambodia, this Ph.D. experience will be the lesson learnt for her to apply for the permanent career dealing with the future political geography, genocide, war and mass violence in Cambodia.

    2019 LL.M in Law and Political Science, the University of Nagoya, Japan; 2010 B.A. in Law, the University of Royal University of Law and Economic, Cambodia

     

    Awards/Achievements

    • 2020: Research Grant on “Juvenile Justice with Human Rights in Cambodia with an integration of gender perspectives” by Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in Cambodia.
    • 2012: Tyner, James A. The Killing of Cambodia: Genocide, Geography and the Unmaking of Space, translated into the Khmer language (Phnom Penh: Documentation Center of Cambodia); The book was published in Rasmei Kampuchea, Cambodia’s major daily newspaper.
    • 2010:  The 1st place of National Champion of the 4 annual Mock Trial Competition Conducted by American Bar Association and the East-West Management Institution in Cambodia.
    • 2009: Outstanding Award for undergraduate program in field of law from Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Japan in Cambodia.
