How do I take advantage of the Installment Plan(IP)*?

The final examination period for day and evening classes is Monday, Dec. 8, 2025 through Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025. Weekend classes, including Friday after 5 p.m., will hold exams during the weekend of Dec. 12-14, 2025, at their regularly scheduled class meeting times. Instructors for short-term courses (courses that don't meet the full term) should be holding their exams during the last class meeting for the course. 

The time and date of final examinations are determined by the first class meeting of the week. (NOTE: If a course consists of several elements - lecture, recitation, lab, etc. - the first lecture meeting is considered the first class meeting.) If a class starts at a time not listed in the following Exam Tables, then the starting time on the table that immediately precedes the regularly scheduled starting time that day should be used.

Block Exams

Course syllabi should indicate whether or not a given class will be scheduled for a block examination. No courses, other than those listed, may use a block examination time. Evening sections of these courses use the regular final exam schedule on this page (not block times); weekend sections will have finals Dec. 8 - 11, 2025 at scheduled class times.

The following courses may have a block final exam in which all sections of the course, except those in evening and weekend hours, meet simultaneously.

PLEASE NOTE: Examinations for courses meeting during the day, one day per week, should be scheduled for one of the following exam periods:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 10, 3:15 - 5:30 p.m. 
  • Friday, Dec. 12, 3:15 - 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 13, 8 - 10:15 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Courses that are taught partially online under the following conditions:

  • Meeting times are not regularly scheduled for the duration of the full term
  • Final exam is not scheduled online

Should be scheduled for one of the following exam periods:

Block Exams

Course syllabi should indicate whether or not a given class will be scheduled for a block examination. No courses, other than those listed, may use a block examination time. Evening sections of these courses use the regular final exam schedule on this page (not block times); weekend sections will have finals May 9-11, 2025 at scheduled class times.

The following courses may have a block final exam in which all sections of the course, except those in evening and weekend hours, meet simultaneously.

Kent State University at East Liverpool and Kent State University at Salem reserves the right to make adjustments in the Final Exam Schedule.

  1. ALL CLASSES TAUGHT IN ANY MODE ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE SOME FORM OF INSTRUCTIONAL OR EVALUATIVE ACTIVITY DURING THE FINAL EXAMINATION PERIOD. For face-to-face or synchronously delivered remote courses, all final exams must be held during the appropriate time block shown in the table below. Each final exam time block is scheduled for two hours.
  2. The time block for your face-to-face or synchronously delivered remote course final examination is determined by your regular class start time and the first class meeting of the week. If your course has several elements (e.g. lecture, lab) the first lecture meeting is considered the first class meeting of the week.
    1. Classes that do not meet the full term: Finals are held during the last scheduled class meeting for these courses.
    2. Classes that meet face-to-face or synchronously remotely one day per week: Finals are held during final exam week at the regularly scheduled meeting day and time.
  3. If a student has a potential schedule conflict, instructors are expected to make suitable arrangements for those students.
  4. Any student who has four or more exams scheduled on one day may re-schedule one exam, with the instructor’s permission.
  5. NO RESCHEDULING OF EXAMS WILL BE PERMITTED except by special arrangement between instructor and Vice Dean. If the request is approved, your face-to-face or synchronously delivered remote course final exam must also be given at the time shown in the exam table for students who prefer to take it then.

PLEASE NOTE: Half Semester Courses/ Open Learning / Seven Week Courses:

  • Final examinations will be held on the last scheduled class meeting date. 

Courses meeting One-Day-a-Week for the Full Semester:

  • Final examinations will be held Exam Week during the course’s regularly scheduled day and time.

Full-term courses meeting Twice-a-week:

  • The final examination date and is determined using the Final Exam Table 

Exam Conflicts

If there is a scheduled final examination conflict, you must contact the instructor immediately. Instructors are expected to make suitable arrangements for students with scheduled final examination conflicts. Students who have more than three final examinations on the same day should petition the assistant dean as early as possible for an adjustment in their final examination schedule. Kent State University reserves the right to make adjustments to the Final Exam Schedule.

Upgrades to the Financial Aid Dashboard

The FlashLine Self-Service portal for financial aid and scholarships, called the “Financial Aid Dashboard,”  has been upgraded to provide enhanced navigation and a more user-friendly look and feel. 

The Dashboard is where students can view and accept their financial aid and scholarships and see their specific financial aid information.

All existing financial aid capabilities are still available.

  • Students can access the portal in the same location as before by logging into FlashLine. Select Student > Scholarships & Financial Aid > Financial Aid Dashboard.
     
  • If you need assistance navigating the new dashboard, contact the Financial, Billing and Enrollment Center.
     
  • Login and technical assistance questions can be directed to the HelpDesk.
