SPCS International Women's Day program- March 8, 2023: Reproductive Rights in Post-Brexit Post-Conflict Northern Ireland

The School of Peace & Conflict Studies, in celebration of International Women's Day, welcomes Amanda Donahoe, speaking on "Reproductive Rights in Post-Brexit Post-Conflict Northern Ireland."  This program will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm in McGilvrey Hall 307.

Dr. Amanda (Mandi) Donahoe earned her doctorate in International Studies from the University of Denver.  She is currently Assistant Professor of Political Science at Centenary College of Louisiana.  Her book, “Peacebuilding Through Women’s Community Development” is only one example of the work she has done at the intersection of Gender Studies and Peace & Conflict Studies.  Mandi describes her feminism as starting with “Taking Women’s Lives Seriously,” a challenging task when so many of the stories we tell ourselves about history, politics, and war do not take women’s lives seriously.
