    Biography

    Jamil Al Wekhian began teaching with the School of Peace and Conflict Studies in the fall of 2017. Prior to joining our school, he taught for five years at the Department of Peace Studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU).

    Al Wekhian designed self-paced courses at the Department of Peace Studies, MU, where he still teaches them virtually. He is also the founder and adviser for the Better Together Interfaith Organization at MU. Al Wekhian was awarded the University of Missouri-Columbia Excellent Teaching Award.

    Al Wekhian holds a PhD in International Conflict Management from Kennesaw State University. He was born in a remote village in Jordan, where he earned his Bachelor in Psychology from the University of Jordan and Masters in Criminology from Mutah University. His research focuses on culture, religion, and conflict management, as well as sports violence and identity driven conflict.
