Kent State University at Stark has announced the President’s and Dean's Lists for the fall 2023 semester.  Requirements for the President’s List are a 4.00 grade point and at least 15 letter-graded (A, B, etc.) credit hours completed by the end of the semester. Requirements for the Dean’s List include a 3.40 grade point average or above and at least 12 letter-graded (A, B, etc.) credit hours completed by the end of the semester. Kent State University at Trumbull proudly announces students named to either the Fall 2023 President's or Dean's lists. Emily Speck is an environmental health specialist who graduated from Kent State's College of Public Health.

A year ago, national media outlets descended on East Palestine, Ohio, after a freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed in the rural Columbiana County village on Feb. 3, 2023. The Flashes Fighting Hunger food pantry has seen a huge increase in users.

Kalena Speicher began working at Kent State’s Flashes Fighting Hunger food pantry in January 2023 and during that year she witnessed a huge increase in the number of people coming in for fresh meat, fruits, vegetables and staples. The increase has been steady since the pandemic, when the pantry remained open to serve the needs of the community, according to Amanda Paulus, senior director of Community Engaged Learning and External Relations.
