Take Back the Night is an international march and rally that started in the 1970s as a protest and direct action against rape and other forms of sexualized violence and sexualized subordination of women.

This provided symbolism for women's individual walk through darkness and a united front against fear and violence. In addition, Kent State University has been chosen by the Take Back the Night Foundation to join nine locations around the United States in a candlelit vigil for the '10 Points of Light to Take Back the Night' to unite in support of survivors and victims of sexual violence.

Take Back the Night is moving to the Fall in 2014.
