Organic Synthesis Facility

The mission of the Organic Synthesis Facility is to provide researchers with liquid crystalline materials that are not readily commercially available for research purposes. Any interested researcher is welcome to submit a request for materials that have been previously reported in the literature. A fee will be charged to cover the cost of synthesis. For new materials, the facility supervisor and staff will discuss a possible design and synthesis of the materials through a variety of arrangements including setting up a collaborative research project. Purification service of organic compounds is available. Formulation of mixtures is also possible when an exact composition is provided.

The Organic Synthesis Facility is well known for providing high quality liquid crystalline materials in useable quantities. We have expertise in deuterated materials, esters, cyanobiphenyls, ferroelectrics, diacetylenes, lipid salts, etc.
