COVID-19 Vaccine Staff Compliance Is Required
Dear Kent State University Staff Members,
We are now into the next phase of the university’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement. We know that many of you already are compliant with this requirement, and we are grateful for your cooperation in helping to keep our community safe and healthy as we continue to fight the COVID-19 virus.
Get Vaccinated Now!
Employees are required to either get vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit evidence of their vaccination or receive an approved exemption from being vaccinated and participate in the university’s required testing protocol.
Vaccines are readily available weekdays on the Kent Campus at the DeWeese Health Center and numerous other locations throughout Northeast Ohio (including locations near our campuses). Getting vaccinated is one of the best ways to show how Flashes Take Care of Flashes.
Submit Evidence of Vaccination
Once vaccinated, staff must submit proof of vaccination here. By clicking this link, you will be taken to our Employee Vaccine Registration webpage. On this page, you will see a blue block button labeled “Submit Your Vaccination Record.” When you click on this button, you will be taken to an important university survey. Please take this survey.
At the end of the survey, you will be automatically directed to the site for Med+Proctor, the medical records company that collects and verifies this data for the university. There is no cost to use Med+Proctor. The company will offer you the chance to purchase a lifetime subscription for $10. You do not have to purchase this – simply click where it says, “No thank you, I do not want to access my document later.”
If you are having trouble registering with Med+Proctor, you will find a yellow block button on this page labeled “Step-by-Step Instructions For Reporting Your Vaccination” where you will find detailed instructions on how to register with Med+Proctor.
Within the Kent State community, only University Health Services has access to the data submitted to Med+Proctor.
Kent State will consider exemption requests from the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for medical, religious beliefs or personal conscience reasons. Visit our exemption page to learn how to apply for an exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine requirement and to access the necessary forms.
Please understand that anyone who receives an exemption from vaccination will be required to submit to regular testing (up to two times a week) from the time their exemption is granted to stay compliant.
On the Kent Campus, testing takes place at one of the Visit Healthcare locations across campus. For those on Regional Campuses, BinaxNOW at-home testing kits may be picked up at designated distribution locations on each campus and must be performed weekly. All testing provided by the university is at no cost to staff. As in the case of vaccination data, at Kent State only University Health Services will maintain or have access to testing data.
Employees who fail to comply with the vaccine requirement or, if granted an exemption, fail to comply with the required testing, will face progressive counseling that may result in disciplinary action, including possible termination of employment.
If you have questions about the vaccine requirement or its implementation, please email the Division of Human Resources at email@example.com. For questions about how to register a vaccination, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 330-672-8227.
Please understand that our vaccine requirement was instituted with the health and safety of our entire Kent State community in mind. We are committed to doing all that we can to protect our fellow Golden Flashes, their families and friends.
