I PROMISE FOURTH GRADERS TO TAKE OVER KENT STATE’S BRAIN HEALTH RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Students from the Akron, Ohio, I PROMISE School will spend a day on the Kent Campus learning about the brain. Kent State University’s Brain Health Research Institute on Wednesday, Nov. 29, will welcome 94 fourth-grade students from the I PROMISE School in Akron, Ohio, for a day of activities aimed at sparking their interest in science and technology.

Mary Ann Devine, Ph.D., a professor in the School of Foundations, Leadership and Administration at Kent State University, was invited to deliver the keynote address to the New York State Pediatric Physical Therapy Association on October 20. The presentation titled: Inclusion of neurodiverse children in leisure: Models, Benefits, and Best Practices was delivered to an audience of approximately 1500 physical therapists and physical therapy assistants from across New York State who work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, and private practices. The conference was held on the campus of State University of New York Stoney Brook and addressed various topics related to inclusion of children with disabilities in community life.
