The parade will step off at 10:30 a.m. from the corner of Midway and Main Street.
There is no cost for participating, but entries must be registered by Sunday, October 1.
Registration forms are due online by Sunday, October 1.
Entries can be a walking unit, a novelty vehicle or other type of vehicle, marching bands or floats.
Each entry will have an assigned spot. These assignments will be emailed to the contact person by October 18. Spots are assigned on a first-come, first serve basis as well as based on the type of entry, so you are not able to choose your spot.
Yes, vendors/area businesses are welcome to participate in the parade. They must, however, have some sort of unit- float, walking group, etc.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide assistance with supplies or transportation.
Yes, you are allowed to distribute materials, candy, etc. along the route. Units need to keep moving and cannot wait for walkers to catch up.
If you will be returning to campus, you may park in the Terrace Hall lot or a variety of other campus lots with the exception of any lots on Midway Drive or Theatre Drive.
Transportation will not be available back to campus.
Yes, within reason, being considerate of the units around you in the parade. Refer to csi@kent.edu for further clarification.
At this point we do not need volunteers due to the staff requirements to work that day.
There is a cap of 150 parade entries.
All floats must follow/meet federal, state and local laws related to travel on public roads. Floats must be legal to drive on streets, no longer than approximately 50’ in length, and no wider than one lane.
The parade staff has made the decision to limit animal participation, with the exception of guide/working dogs, if appropriate.
The parade will take approximately 1-1 ½ hours from step off to conclusion. The parade route is approximately 1.5 miles long.
