The Kent State Student Homecoming Committee (SHC) will take part in the Ceremonial Painting of the K. SHC members will paint the K blue in Risman Plaza to showcase their KSU pride and signify the start of Homecoming Week.

Saturday, October 6 Homecoming events are optional. Exclusive parking for the Class of 1968 will be at the Center for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. We invite international alumni to kick-off Homecoming Weekend by joining us at a special preevent reception of the Fourth Annual International Homecoming Celebration! This will be an exclusive opportunity for international alumni to reconnect while enjoying light appetizers and a cash bar before the big event begins. The pre-event reception will take place at the Kent Student Center Ballroom Balcony from 6 - 7 p.m. Following the pre-event reception, enjoy the Fourth Annual International Homecoming Celebration with fellow alumni and the Kent State community! This annual event is a unique opportunity to experience Homecoming with a global twist as our current international students showcase their home countries, cultures and culinary. International Homecoming Celebration typically attracts more than 1,000 guests and is open to all current students, faculty, staff and alumni.
The Alumni Awards recognize and honor alumni who, through leadership, character and hard work, have made exceptional contributions in their profession, communities and at Kent State. These awards are the university's most prestigious honors given to alumni. Join the Kent State University Alumni Association in celebrating the achievements of the University's most outstanding alumni at the Alumni Awards Ceremony on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at the Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center. The University Bands Alumni Chapter and the Kent State University Bands cordially invite you to participate in what is sure to be a very exciting day as we celebrate Homecoming 2018 on Saturday, Oct.6. Homecoming events include: al a carte participation in either drill, parade, stands, or all three!; Homecoming Parade performance; lunch with the other band alumni and the current MGF senior class; performing in the stands during the game; halftime performance - the ‘FLOATING K’ is back!! Alumni will have an opportunity to form the ‘Floating K’ once again on the field, but we need at least 50 alumni to form the K! If we do NOT meet the minimum of 50 alumni then the Floating K may be canceled.

Alumni are invited to a complimentary continental breakfast at the Rock on front campus beginning at 9 a.m. It's an excellent place for the parade viewing as well. The parade features floats, Kent State and local high school marching bands, university colleges and departments, Kent State cheerleaders and athletes, community organizations, local officials and more! The Kent State University Museum will be free and open to the public in honor of the 100th anniversary of homecoming! Students, alumni and their families are welcome to tour our current exhibits on display: "Fashion Meets the Body;" "Beyond the Suit: Contemporary Menswear from the Collection of Alexandre Marr and Dominic Iudiciani;" "For the Birds"; "Glass: Selections from the KSU Museum;" and "Fashion Timeline."
Continue your Homecoming celebration after the parade at an alumni party at the Center for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. The Welcome Home Party is free and fun for all ages with festive food, activities and KSU giveaways!
Stop by our nationally ranked Fashion School and enjoy a tour of the building with exclusive access to our TechStyleLAB, Knit Lab and more! Light refreshments will be served. Join us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Rockwell Hall Atrium.

Take a ride on Lolly the Trolley! This narrated campus tour allows you to hop on and off at your leisure. Look for Lolly the Trolley at various stops around campus. The trolley tour is available from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Homecoming day. Wait at the designated stops to board Lolly the Trolley that will arrive approximately every 20 minutes. Check back to see where the trolley will stop around campus!

All couples will kiss on the K at Risman Plaza when the bell rings at 12:30 p.m. A special performance by the Kent Clarks and activities will begin at noon. The Honors College invites you to join your fellow Honors College alumni for a special Open House with the Dean. Meet with Dean Alison Smith and enjoy coffee and light refreshments, while connecting with other alumni, along with the Honors College advisory board and staff. The Honors College will provide updates regarding new programming for the academic year, along with Honors College events and activities. Open House with the Dean is free and open to the public. Kent State Honors alumni, along with prospective Honors College students are encouraged to attend this event.
Everyone is invited to tour the recently completed Center for the Visual Arts during Homecoming on Oct. 6 from noon to 3 p.m. All the facilities will be open, including art studios, art education classrooms and art history lecture halls. Art demonstrations will take place in various studios around the building and artwork will be on display throughout. Visitors may choose guided or self-guided tours. Additionally, student groups will be selling their wares and ARTshop, our student-run retail shop, will be open. Come see what the School of Art has to offer! Free and open to the public. Alumni and prospective students encouraged to attend.

Before you head into the game enjoy a pregame party under the big tent outside of Dix Stadium featuring food, fun and a celebration of our Golden Flashes! Enjoy food stations, cash bar, giveaways, spirit station, Flash and a DJ. An RSVP is required for the tailgate. Location: Tent Outside Adam S. Hamilton West Entrance at Dix Stadium. Price: $20 per person - tailgate and general admission ticket to the football game (a $30 value) or $10 per person for tailgate only.
