Student Employee Appreciation Week is Here

The week of April 8 - 12 is National Student Employment Appreciation Week. To celebrate, Career Exploration and Development will provide special edition t-shirts KSU student workers. Our goal is to deliver directly to you as many t-shirts as possible.

Each student employee will receive a t-shirt that can be picked up at the Career Exploration and Development Office, and a card for specific discounts or giveaways from various off-campus businesses and on-campus departments. These will be distributed to supervisors along with the shirts, or the cards will arrive separately through on-campus mail.

Social Media Contest
Student Employment is holding a contest during Student Employee Appreciation Week. We're rewarding the department that takes a photo with the most "likes" or "shares" on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. The winning department will get a delicious snack basket courtesy of Aramark!

Here's how it works:

  1. Encourage your students to get together and take a commemorative picture.
  2. Post the picture to one of three social media outlets listed below with the hashtag #flashatwork.
  3. By April 14, whichever photo on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram that has the most social interaction wins a prize for their department.

And just for fun-- you might see some Snapchat Geo-filters popping up around campus!

While student employees will be celebrated university-wide, supervisors are also encouraged to show appreciation to those working within their departments. Appreciation can include giving students a simple thank-you card, surprising students with a homemade treat, decorating with a “thank you” banner in the office, etc. Contact campusworks@kent.edu with any questions.
