We are pleased to announce that Kent State University has partnered with the United States Department of Veteran Affairs, Portage County Veterans Service Commission, Portage County Veterans Service Office, OhioMeansJobs Portage County and Kent State University Career Services to host a unique job fair experience for Ohio's veterans.
The goals of this job fair are somewhat unique in nature in that we want our veterans to feel empowered by their experience. First, we seek to create unique opportunities for veterans to speak with employers that have specific job openings and a willingness to consider veterans for hire. Secondly, we aim to provide targeted services for our attending veterans to assist them in getting connected with services and programs for which they may be eligible.
We will be limiting this event to the first 25 employers that share in our mutual goals listed above. The job fair will take place on Wednesday, April 28, 2015 at Kent State University at the Kent Student Center located in Risman Plaza. Fair hours will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The cost to participating employers will be $50.00, $30.00 for non-profit organizations, which includes a light breakfast and lunch for participating employers.
