Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services Marks 5 Years at Kent State

Over the past five years, SRVSS has led the charge in changing the culture around sexual and relationship violence that affects our community through education on healthy relationships, consent and power-based personal violence and empowering survivors.

Now we look to the future and share that beginning July 1, 2018, we became an official center for support services, prevention education and awareness for the Kent State community. The Center for Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services (SRVSS) envisions a Kent State University community where all members learn, work and live free from violence.  Our mission is to empower those affected by violence and educate the community about healthy relationship and bystander action.

This fall, we reviewed all our programs and initiatives, ensuring best practice and alignment with our core values. We expanded our Green Dot movement to reach faculty and staff and continue to provide leadership on Kent State Stands Up, a university-wide awareness campaign to promote respect and shared responsibility in creating a safer university community. Finally, we increased our initiatives to empower survivor from crisis to healing, which includes starting an emergency fund for assistance to survivors for academic success.
