- Berman, Gayle
An undergraduate student at Kent State University in 1970, Gayle Berman got out of class on May 4 and then walked right into the middle of the events taking place on the Commons before the shots were fired.

- DeFrange, Timothy
A Kent, Ohio, resident and Kent State University student in 1970, Timothy DeFrange describes what happened to him and his family the day of the shootings on campus. In the year prior to the shootings, DeFrange's brother had been killed in the Vietnam War.

E. Timothy Moore was an undergraduate student at Kent State University in 1970, and, at the time of this interview, was Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Kent State.

John Peach was Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety at Kent State University at the time of this interview. He grew up in Kent and had just started his career with the campus police force in the fall of 1970, during the aftermath of the shootings.
