February Social Media Recap

February was an exciting month for the Kent State community. Let’s take a look at some of our top-performing posts of the month!

The announcement of Kent State’s partnership extension with the LeBron James Family Foundation earned a top spot across our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts. 

Instagram

Specifically, on Instagram, the post announcing that eligible students in the oldest I PROMISE Network class would receive free tuition for four years and free room and board for one year garnered 3,073 likes.

Twitter

On Twitter, our quote retweet in response to the LeBron James Family Foundation’s post about the announcement generated 1,905 likes.   

Facebook

Another post that performed well across multiple platforms was a video highlighting the beauty of our snow-covered Kent Campus earlier this year. This post saw the most engagement on Facebook, receiving 504 reactions, 126 shares and more than 11,000 views! 

 

Additionally, on Facebook, the announcement of the May 4, 50th Commemoration Benefit Concert featuring Joe Walsh (with Barnstorm – Joe Vitale and Kenny Passarelli) and David Crosby (with his touring band) garnered 343 reactions. Both Walsh and Crosby are two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers with strong musical connections to the events of May 4, 1970.

 

The top performing Instagram story of the month was the Career Fair that took place at the Beverly J. Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center on Feb. 20. This story received 3,081 views (average per clip) on Instagram.
