Human Resources welcomes Sheba Marshall

Human Resources Employee Benefits is pleased to announce an addition to the team! Some of you may remember this familiar name — Sheba Marshall returns to Kent State as Interim Executive Director of Employee Benefits & Wellness.

About Sheba

Sheba Marshall returns to Kent State today, June 5, with a wealth of knowledge on university policy, benefits offerings, and wellness initiatives. Among many accomplishments during her previous service at Kent State, Sheba successfully worked to provide strategic direction for the university’s health plans, supplemental retirement plans, life insurance, and partnered with the Wellness team to identify and implement programming.

In subsequent years, Sheba served in a variety of increasingly impressive roles, and most recently served as Interim Chief Human Resources Officer for Cuyahoga County. There she provided mission-critical oversight for the County’s human resources business plan, transformed recruitment strategies, implemented a Tuition Reimbursement Program, and spearheaded market studies on compensation programming.  Sheba also represented Human Resources as a member of  Cuyahoga County’s Equity Commission, Workforce Funders Group and other Community Outreach organizations.

Sheba earned an Executive MBA from Kent State and a B.A from Baldwin Wallace College. She also holds senior-level certifications from both the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) SPHR and the Public Sector HR Association (PSHRA) SCP. Please join the rest of the Human Resources team in welcoming back Sheba. We are excited to bring her aboard and can’t wait to see what more we will accomplish with her on the team.
