Kent State University's winter closure for 2025 will begin Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will re-open on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be communicated in early December.

  • Join us Wednesday, Oct. 29 for the Bowman Breakfast featuring a special presentation by Asad Khan, Ph.D., ’03, ’95, Chief Executive Officer of Kent Displays Inc., on the topic Rooted and Rising: A Kent State Story with Global Roots. Since its inception in 1963, this event has brought together university and city leaders to address important community issues and strengthen the partnership between Kent State and the city of Kent.

  • Join us for Design for Extremes, a two-day experiential workshop (Oct. 24-25, 2025) designed to take participants through the process of breaking down a complex problem, turning an idea into an actionable solution, and making a business model for it. Students (from any university), faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to participate. This year's event theme is "Prototyping for Better Futures." Free lunches will be provided during the event.
